First Trails at Grand Targhee / Jackson Hole

Does anyone know which trails Grand Targhee and Jackson Hole tend to open up during the first week?  I'm guessing it's not many but I'm curious to know ahead of time.

Thanks in advance!

As of today JHMR is making snow only on Upper Werner > Moran > Lower Werner.  The middle part of Werner and Teewinot Gully or Hanna are usually next. The forecast looks good for continued cold and some natural snow.  More snowmaking was installed at the bottom of Casper over the summer so that may be an early priority as well.  At some point, they usually leave Apres Vous to work on Sundance and Gros Ventre to get the gondola open then return if necessary to finish St. John's, etc.

Targhee has very limited snowmaking in the base area.  Usually when they open it is just about everything except the Sac lift.

When are you going to JH?  Have you found the EpicSki Unofficial Guide for JH yet?  I found it very helpful for my first trip there with a couple ski buddies last season.

I will be at Targhee Nov 23-26th and Jackson Hole the 27th and 28th.  I didn't know there was an EpicSki guide for JH-- I will go check it out, thanks!!

Fun!  Hope it snows a lot in the next couple weeks.  I didn't realize that GT opened that early.  I really like GT even though I've only had a couple days there.  Works well since I'm the type of advanced skier who likes Alta better than Snowbird.

Hoping JH gets plenty of snow in Jan too.  My friends and I are meeting up in SLC.  Will only drive to JH if conditions are going to be really good.  Last winter it hadn't snowed at JH for three weeks when we arrived.  While it was still fun to explore, we are going to be pickier this time.

JH has a free mountain tour if you want a detailed on-mountain introduction.
