Shopping for One-Ski-Quiver options right now, here's my short list:
- Salomon Rocker2 108
- 4FRNT Devastator
- 4FRNT YLE
- Line Mr. Pollard’s Opus
- Blizzard Peacemaker
- Blizzard Cochise
- Volkl Mantra
These will be for anything and everything.
Any ski testers out there try out the 2015 gear, and for a single do-anything pair, what are your top choices?
Thank you, and pray for snow. Very deep, very light snow. :)
EDIT: @spindrift thanks for reminding me to add these helpful ski-matching details about me and skiing type:
Wt: 178 lbs.
Ex-racer, all-mountain skier, ski trees when the snow's fresh, chases fresh snow terrain whenever possible. Frequent CO, UT, CA.
Head Rock 'n Roll 180, 132/94/119
What I'm looking for:
Similar light, playful feel as the RnR, but wider for pow, and more rise in tip 'n tail for float and learning butters. I want something 105 or wider in the waist now, and looking for light, easy, versatile, good for off-piste, but can hang on groomers too (err on the side of fresh snow conditions, that's where I try to be most).
What I don't want: Heavy, sluggish bomber, used to ski on metal-layered Super G's as DD's, but now the RnR has converted me to light, wider, easy skis that can take anything. I tried the Atomic Crimson Ti the year I I demo'd the RnR and it convinced me that "powerful carving/cruising skis" were no longer for me.
