I haven't been on here in a while, but I'm getting back in the swing of things and with Killington officially open for the season, I figured I'd see what was on everyone's minds! We've been hard at work up in the woods and on the slopes and I'm happy to report that Magic is in tip top shape- mowed top to bottom, with fresh snowmaking upgrades and even a few new trails and details!
With last year being Magic's best year since reopening, we're looking to make this one even bigger and better. For this season there will be a night park at the bottom of carumba- serviced by the learning area handle tow and lighted until at least 7pm, which will really help give the younger demographic something constructive to do in the evening hours- and for the same price as the tubing pass. Also to service this area there has been a new cut-over trail cut from blackline to carumba right at the handle tow- also giving skiers and riders a chance to get over so they don't have to go around the bottom of the tubing park to get across to the red chair anymore either.
Also we added two more tree runs to the roster that were previously so filled with deadfall they were completely unskiable. That brings us to I believe 30 off-map tree runs or so? It is a lot these days.
If you didn't see it, Magic scored a top 5 in the country for hidden pow skiing gems in Outside Magazine, as well as having a nice feature in Powder Mag in which Derek Taylor dubbed our go-to spot for high-fives and beers on the hill after hours as "The Best Apres Ski Spot in the Country"so it's good to see the public perception coming back around for the place but it won't help if more people aren't planning on coming.
So... Have you been to Magic lately? Planning on going this season? Have questions or comments? In any event, I'd love to hear what you think, how your experience went if you've been and what you feel about the place in general. Thanks and I hope to see you out there!!
