That thing is astounding! Not my cuppa, but pretty darn cool, nevertheless.
The best "ski" car not offered here for me personally would have to be BMW's sweet little X1, with a stick shift.
A close second -- but a lot spendier -- would be the Audi S4 wagon, again, with a stick shift.
And third would be BMW's 3-series wagon, again again, with a stick shift.
Although 2nd and 3rd place would drive a bit better, for skiing and gravel road purposes, I'd prefer the extra ground clearance of the X1 (not to mention the smaller size and weight).
Fourth place -- which you can't get anywhere, and doesn't make a lot of sense on public roads, anyway -- would be the supremely crappy ski car otherwise known as the new BMW M3 in wagon format (though an internal code for this car has been reserved by BMW, most likely to cruelly taunt lunatics like myself).
Stick shifts don't make a lot of practical sense anymore, but I'm pretty sure I need just one more!
