2015 Mid-Atlantic Gathering - Blue Knob - Feb, 6 - 8 - Page 10

The fact that the house rental ended up not being right on the slopes definitely made it difficult for the day trippers to stop by.  Someone waved from the chairlift overhead when I was near the top of the NASTAR course, but I never saw them again. Next year I'll try to be a little more aware. I did meet up with Pierre for a run down Extrovert...damn, that guy skis good!  He was smart enough not to go down the lower part...wish I could same the same for myself  LOL

I know it seems early, but for those who haven't noticed the planning thread for 2016, please check it out.  The folks who are planning for lodging and working around school schedules would like to settle on the location sooner rather than later.

The crowds on weekends I overheard were because they now are allowing groups to ski on weekends for discounted pricing.  So much for season pass holders and no lift lines.

Probably won't have that much impact on the MidA Gathering since that's after Pres. Day.  Relatively few ski groups plan trips for late Feb.

I'd be surprised if BK ever ends up with lift lines like Whitetail or Seven Springs on weekends.  It's not the friendliest place for a bunch of beginners.  Winterplace in southern WV . . . is packed with groups every weekend partially because it's right off an Interstate highway.  Also has good beginner and intermediate terrain, as well as snow tubing.
