Me: Tacoma/Vashon Island, Crystal.
Mod note: moved to General Skiing
Hope to see you at the Mt. soon Slider! I've been busy working on skis. Pray for a deep enough base to start so we don't have cinder bombs!
A Bear brought me six pair to run in my hot box the other day. He had them ready to bake. Mostly Fischer's. Nice carving skis. When I can, I will introduce you to him. He is a short timer here and doesn't know a lot of folks yet.
Thanks! I have 63 more where that one came from. All from second hand stores! Shhh.............for cheep!
I will ski more than 64 days so not really one for every day, but one for any condition or temperature. I have at least three Bogner's. Two of them can be seen in my "Vintage One Piece Ski Suit Fashion Show" videos. I need to make the third video now to see the other one. As soon as I find the time I will make the third video. With a newer cam it should be the best! Be good.
Hey, Sequim (is that your home town?), I'm a born and bread Issaquite. Moved out when it got too crowded. One day I'll get a copy of a "Ski Issaquah" poster that a buddy and I made in the gravel pit and I'll post it here.
Now back to your regular programming.
Mill Creek - Stevens Pass - getting tired of the overcrowding, having to get there before 9 to get parking, etc started backcountry skiing late last season, so we'll see how that goes. Got SP season passes again this year, but thinking of trying Crystal season passes next year (2015-2016) for a change. Anyone doing much backcountry in the area ?
Sequim is not my hometown but good user name as it's never taken and I get a chuckle out of how I think people will pronounce it. Agree about Issaquah getting overcrowded - we love the proximity to bike trails and skiing but hate the never ending development and it's overrun with yuppies in their fancy cars! Formulating a plan to downsize and spend part of our time in Utah in another year so we can become ski bums. That will probably be a post I'll be making to get some feedback.
Re Stevens Pass overcrowding, yes that's one reason it's second best! That and always seems to be foggy. Seems like you can get away from the crowds at Crystal and it's got such amazing terrain.
Interesting. Perhaps I need to learn to ski Crystal better. I feel like I can avoid the crowds easier at Stevens, but perhaps it's just because I know my way around there better.
