Hey Everyone! I'm from Freehold NJ and would be up for meeting some fellow NJ/PA bears. I started skiing in middle school at Arrowhead, a tiny mountain (now closed) but we could build jumps so we were there every night!! Elk is 3 hours from me, but I driven to Vermont skied then drove back all in the same day, so I can meet wherever you all decide. I use to ski BB and Jack with school ski trips so that works. Spent last year skiing CB but used the singles line on weekends. Not a fan of Blue for midweek skiing, it is only area I know that has a lift line midweek because they only open 1 lift. Not a fan of Mountain Creek because they don't leave bumps on any trails so it gets a little boring.
Looks like K2 (if you are into K2) will have a bunch of demo days in PA.
Bet a few of you googled Arrowhead already!!!!
Small world. Camp Arrowhead was a YMCA and summer camp. I never went to camp there and never skied there but saw the guides on the telephone poles that held the rope tow. My family lived in Old Bridge and belonged to the Y there for ~ 10 years and we were there to swim almost every summer day from 1964 until 1973 when I started high school (damn I'm getting old:). I used to swim on the Camp Arrowhead swim team in my Mark Spitz red, white, and blue stars & stripes Speedo. Marlboro Hospital (the looney bin) was across the street.
Bet you didn't know that if you went through the woods at the back of the top of the hill there is a pig farm and slaughterhouse that was owned by the government. As a break from swimming, we used to go down to the fence surrounding the pig farm and dare each other to run through the pigs to certain spots in the enclosure. Great memories.
