SIGH, February can't get here fast enough.

Is that a thermometer? It occurs to me that it there ought to be a (weight) scale, as well.  It could be calibrated in percent water content, or maybe frizzante, spumante, cava, ..., champagne?

The funny thing is that the thermometer has never worked!  It might as well show something other than the incorrect temperature.  :D

oh, and yes, there should be a date and time stamp on the image.....  Its these little details that add to the "steamboat charm"

At least it's getting colder this weekend, with some possible snow forecast in the Catskills!

Revelstoke's Gnorm the Powder Gnome is jealous. But he does get cleaned off at 4pm daily.

He is located about a 1000 vertical feet below the top of the lift accessed part of the mountain.

Hey Finndog,

Hope it is now to cold for you to be biking!!! Got a question for you. If I wanted a good place (indoors, alcohol served) to see the fireworks and parade on NYE where would you make reservations?

@Bill9994

Since its on the mountain, I would make a few calls to verify that they will accept reservations. There aren't really a lot that come to mind that would have reserved seating.

Yama, Brian & Katie Vaugn's newest restaurant (Bistro CV and Low country; Fro-Yo ) on the mountain where Sakitumi used to be.  That would be my 1st pick.

One Steamboat Place, The truffle Pig- I would call to ensure you can reserve a table with mountain views

Cafe Diva really won't have good views but there may be a couple of tables that may.

Others worth trying:

the paramount

Slopeside

T-bar

Bear river

Ptarmigan

Not sure but Hazies is front and center: may be too close since its at mid-mountain,

Thanks! I will check them out. We need to figure on a day or 2 to meet up to ski and hit the brewery you mentioned.

Snow is finally coming! Not as much as Steamboat (which is normal!), but this may be even more exciting at the moment, only because Loveland is open:

4pm yesterday--5" and still snowing hard (but they clear the stake at 4pm daily).

This morning--2 more inches for a total of 7", and a bright and sunny powder day awaits!

More on the way, they say. Let's roll!

Best regards,

Bob
