FS: Dynastar Contact CrossTi 172cm Hard snow carvers

1 pair Dynastar CrossTi 172cm,  2011-12.  $250 w/free shipping.  Look Fluid PX12 bindings adjust to any size boot and also allow you to move forward or back on ski.

Used about 15 days.  Maintained at 1*/3* edges.  Freshly waxed.  Still lots of life in them; I bought them NOS and used them on hard/groomer days.  I've shown the only base damage on the skis; otherwise condition is 7/10 overall, including nicks in the topsheet.  I find them quick, light, agile with good grip.  Great for developing carving skills.  From the description on Real Skiers

Contact Cross

The new Cross TI is the rapid-fire frontside carver for skiers who found the 4X4 a bit more demanding than they preferred. Short of a World Cup slalom, this is the ideal tool for rebound fall line short radius turns. It is very quick and holds a carve with virtually any other ski. In test skier words, "This is a fun ski. Surfs the mountain with catlike changes of direction." There are few skis its equal as a learning tool for modern cross under technique.

Suitable for skier cross, but versatile enough for an everyday ski on the frontside for skilled technical skiers.

Other, more specific comments include: "Lively, smooth yet quick, a solid high level carver capable of performance virtually anywhere in any conditions."

clean carve: 5
smooth drift: 4
accurate: 4
stability: 4

rebound: 4
quickness: 5
lightness: 4
relaxing: 3

Builds confidence:

I have the Dynastar Contact 4x4 of the same vintage - it's just to the right of the Contact Cross in this vid...

Dimensions are slightly different - 122-75-106 - same 15m TR. Solid, confidence inspiring ski! Love the binding system - the heel and toe pieces adjust separately, so as mentioned you can not only accommodate different boot sizes but play with the  effective mount point (fore-aft). Also easy to remove bindings for travel if desired.

Don't know how the Cross compares to the 4x4 exactly, but given what new skis cost this seems like a decent deal on a nice hard snow oriented ski.

The Cross has a  livelier feel, much more nimble at speeds 15-25mph  - at those speeds the 4x4 hasn't even had its morning coffee yet.

I believed I skied this version of the ti and found it a bit softer than the 4x4 (and a bit stiffer than the older Contact 11/ltd/10 that I own).  All are quite similar.
