Hey Epic Ski - First post. Yay.
So I was really psyched on getting a new pair of Mantras this season. It's my fifth or so season skiing, and I moved out to CO in January and got in 50 or so days. I skied mostly on my S3s, and use Black Diamond Carbon Megawatts for pow days at the resort and in the backcountry.
Now that I'm skiing a lot harder than I have in past season, I was going to get a pair of Mantras to complete my quiver. I skied them a bit, and just loved them. Something with a lot of edge grip to use on groomer/icy days, that would really take some work to ski well. But something that would still be a blast to take off-piste, and okay in bumps. Probably it would eventually be my everything ski as the S3s became my rock skis.
So I was really sad to see that they removed all camber from the Mantra this year, making it not nearly as good on hardpack or challenging to ski in pow. I'm looking for a substitute. I get prodeals and would prefer to buy new, so looking for last season's Mantra isn't an option. I have read a bit around and found some good possibilties: the Rossi E100, Line Supernatural 100, and maybe Kendos. Just wanted to get your thoughts on these, and make suggestions. A local shop recommended the RMU SCRM as well, but I can't prodeal those. Thanks all!
