Interesting. Apparently half the people are being shipped the 230 volt Euro version rather than the 110 volt North American version, and they are not happy. But the seller appears to be Artech, which is a stand-up and almost local outfit. Maybe I will call them and ask what's up.

Well, I blew that one. Too cautious - price has nearly doubled now. :(  No doubt one of you jamokes is responsible for that!

 

Guy from Artech said that the reviews on Amazon are for the product, independent of who is selling it. So an item being sold by Artech right now may reflect a buyer's bad experience purchasing the same product from a different seller last year, for example.

While not all used clothing irons are good at maintaining a constant temperature, I have a real nice Black & Decker travel iron that I got from a second hand store for $10.:D
