Eagle, 40% of the US power is dirty power. It is a finite resource with a alarming pollution result. Add water/rain and you have acid. Acid that will kill the oceans (proven by the way)...where a third of the people get their food.
Buy a electric car and you don't contribute? Well lets say everyone used electric cars...and 40% of the power is from coal...
"people can buy clean or dirty power"..I will scan my power bill for you and perhaps you can show me the 'clean' power option. Oh wait everyone can't check clean power...because today / right now it is not an option and I don't believe you would have trouble proving that.
In the northwest we have hydro..so although we can claim clean, we are on a timeline. Dams fill up with sediment and when they do, back to zero...probably nuke. We have some solar, wind, geo but continued rising demand is a problem.
Electric cars will boom when they don't need batteries. The new break is super capacitors and when online will make more sense for electric cars. It is not cars that make up most of the pollution it is heating and cooling our structures. So it makes more sense to work on insulation, window glazing, HVAC plants...heck if every roof in the US was white, we would save a third.
What makes a good horse race is a difference of opinion...we have it. BUT think powder and time off...those two will both of us happier
