dalbello freestyle boots for women

Thread Starter

Skiing wise I am all mountain & freestyle, & am looking for new boots this season. I've been looking at dalbello's & am curious if anyone has any experience with the Kr2 Rampage I.D & IL Moro "t" comp I.D on women. Their site says they are for women & men. I am also looking at their Kr2 Kryzma, but would like a more freestyle oriented boot rather than big mountain.

I am planning on stopping by a boot fitter & trying a few on. But does anyone have any experience or has seen either of those two on women. I am a bit skeptical that they work for both genders since women tend to have a "special" calf that doesn't work well with men's boots.

Thank you for your help

I suppose I'll agree about women's special calf, but I think it may only be because I know everything above the calf is also a woman's as wetland speaking for myself I prefer them to men's.  That said I see plenty of women with a calf that does not require any special treatment from a ski boot standpoint and I sell more boots that you are calling men's to women then I sell women's boots to women.  In fact many boots in women's sizes are indistinguishable from men's except in color just as most women's skis are the same as mens.  So I'd pay more attention to fit than to gender specific names.

The Rampage, Il Moro and Krzyma are basically identical boots with possibly slightly different flex and one has a softer boot board which to me means regardless of the perceived marketing focus the actual on-mountain use, fit and feel will be the same.

as Lou has said, most of the market sector stuff is just high class BS, get a boot which fits your foot and is stiff /soft enough for your body weight and ability, the vast majority of boots are for use all over the mountain, my race boots are still on my feet on powder days as they are the best fitting boots i have
