Congratulations. You correctly identified Nike's main sources of revenue.
But as I alluded to before, snowboard boots are a type of footwear and ski/snowboard clothing is apparel. So, I think it would make sense that a company that makes most of its revenue from footwear and apparel would make an attempt to break into a market selling mostly footwear and apparel. And, I think that a company with a history of establishing themselves as a major player in a number of different markets would have the ability to do so in the snow sports market, especially given their resources and manpower.
My guess is that Nike realized that the potential revenue wasn't worth the time and money necessary to establish themselves as a major player in the market. Either that or they might have plans to acquire a major brand that is already established.
