Liftopia 2014-15 adding date flexibility as an option for a little more money

Liftopia decided to adjust their approach based partially on results of a survey of Liftopia users last spring.  For some resorts, there will be the option to pay a little more to get a more flexible advanced-purchase lift ticket voucher. For Value Plus and Flexible, the voucher can be used on the date specified or a later date.  The additional amount needed for Value Plus or Flexible depends on the location.  Examples run from $5-10.

·

Value lift tickets are date-specific, non-refundable and non-changeable.  Same as before.

· Value Plus lift tickets offer added flexibility, allowing a one-time date change during the season.

· Flexible lift tickets offer the ultimate flexibility with unlimited date changes during the season.

If Value Plus and Flexible tickets are changed to dates that are more expensive, customers will just pay the difference in price. Customers will never be charged separate change fees.

Some examples of Value, Value Plus and Flexible lift tickets for specific dates:

· Arapahoe Basin, CO – Purchase lift tickets in advance for the last week in December (Dec. 29-Jan. 2) and get a Value ticket starting at $58.99, or 35 percent off the walk-up rate; Value Plus starting at $64.99, or 27 percent off the walk-up rate; or Flexible starting at $69.99, or 21 percent off thewalk-up rate.

· Killington, VT – Purchase lift tickets in advance for President’s Weekend (Feb. 14-16) and get a Value ticket starting at $76.99, or 16 percent off the walk-up rate; Value Plus starting at $81.99, or 11 percent off the walk-up rate; or Flexible starting at $86.99, or 5 percent off the walk-up rate.

· Snowbird, UT - Purchase lift tickets in advance for the last week in January (Jan. 26-30) and get a Value ticket starting at $56.99, or 40 percent off the walk-up rate; Value Plus starting at $64.59, or 32 percent off the walk-up rate; or Flexible starting at $69.59, or 27% off the walk-up rate.

Was just looking into this and came across this thread.

So seems like the play here could be to buy flexi on the cheapest days, hope for good conditions, and if they don't come then move the date (likely to a more expensive day) and cross your fingers again.

I'm assuming they won't refund you money if you go from a more expensive day to a cheaper one?
