Skied Crystal yesterday and Stevens today.
Crystal was super pretty. Groomers were firm, but in very nice shape. Seemed skied out enough that we were not tempted to chase around off piste. Though I am sure there were pockets of OK snow. We assumed Northback was pounded and did not bother heading over there. Not enough energy (or optimism) for our first foray into Southback. So it was just a nice groomer day. Very lower sections are wearing thin. FWIW, we've had a couple good legit powder days off Six the past couple weeks & coverage there is in surprisingly good shape. All things considered, the mountain is in pretty good shape.
Hit Stevens for the second time this season today. Much improved since New Year's day. Groomers were mostly in pretty good shape. Surprisingly so in fact. Not stupendous and a few were limited due to creek holes in places that might normally be groomed - but I'll take it at this point. We did a little selective puttering off piste - mostly Corona Glades. It was more fun than expected - though coverage is not exactly deep. DD looked to have quite minimal coverage - not enough to tempt us. One other things bears mentioning. The general "glading" they have done feels more like a timber harvest to me. Change happens. But this was taken to the point of damaging the character of the whole mountain. To such an extent I'd call it offensive. And likely to impact not just traffic, but snow deposition and exposure in many places. Still, at least the place is ski-able.
Fingers crossed the next wet cycle is not too damaging to our local hills....
