It takes them two weeks to create the 18 inch base to open? On the East Coast some areas can do that in 24 hours.

Yeah I thought that seemed like a long time to build up a mere 18 inches.  But what do I know?  :rolleyes

Most other places in the US aren't trying to blow snow this early in the year.

If it was cold and dry enough to blow snow through the whole day they could move a lot faster. Right now A-Bay and Luv are both only able to blow primarily at night and even then only when it is cold enough.

The estimate of 2 weeks from start of snowmaking to open is not with guns running 24/7. If they are lucky it is 10/4 or 5.

Copper has to have a full length 2400 ft vertical downhill run open for the US Olympic speed center by Nov in addition to opening Main Vein for opening day on 10/31.  That is alot more snow than either Abay or Loveland has to make to get open.  Copper has been making snow almost every night the last week even though temps have been barely below or even above freezing for the last 5 days or so.  They must make snow every time it is possible to meet the Speed Center requirements.
