Are there places to buy discounted lift tickets online or in person near or between the two for either of these resorts once the season starts? I will be skiing 4 days at Alta/Snowbird and 3 days at JHMR in February and was planning on getting the Mountain Collective Pass, but just did the math and the cost of the pass and the window prices would be nearly the same. If I could pick up discounted tickets, that would end up being cheaper than going with the pass, but if not, the pass would be easier and more versatile. I did a google search, and checked liftopia, but so far nothing is better. I don't want to hold out that long and miss getting the pass if that is the best option. Any insight would be great!

Check out the JH Gathering discussion thread to learn about JH lift tickets. Bottom line is that finding a discount is not that easy. Hence the valid of the MCP. Especially if going to two destinations since it's 50% off additional days. For Alta/Bird, it's 50% off the combo price.
As for Alta/Snowbird, can always find discounted tickets for them individually. Can buy in a variety of places in SLC in addition to Liftopia. There is a place right at the entrance to the canyon that sells them. Also check out the SuperPass.
