Im in the process of getting a new back country set up and I am looking at the Norwalks. My question is should I get the 169 or the 179? I currently ski the Armada JJ's in 175 and find that size to fir me well. I know the Norwalks do not have a rockered tail so I was thinking about getting the 169 for that reason. I am 5'7" and 175 lbs. I am a pretty aggressive skier and will be using the Norwalks primarily for the back country. One of the reasons I am contemplating getting the 179 is that I'll have my skin contact when doing a climb. Any input/advice you guys may have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I generally like the way their stuff skis but most of it skis short. I would do the 179cm. You will have to hump a little bit of extra weight between the tow sizes going up but gain considerably more performance/fun on the way down.
Yup that's pretty much what I was thinking, Armadas do ski short. I was pretty set in getting the 179cm skis earlier this week and went into the local shop to get these skis ordered. The salesman (a friend of mine) really tired to talk me into the 169cm size, so know Im wanting to get more input on the skis. Unfortunately, I'll need to buy these skis before I could demo them. The extra weight of the larger ski wouldn't be too big of an issue for me as my last AT setup was heavier then that. I am more concerned how the extra length will effect quick turns in the trees. Also the Norwalks do not have a rockered tail like the JJ's so the turning radius will be a little larger.
