April, it is more like November... Most April's we at least have more the 9" covering the rocks.
It isn't going to mank, (sun angle is too low still) but it isn't softening in a uniform manner if that makes sense, today might have been better, but kind of over it and didn't go. Anyway, four good turns, then punching through to the rocks below with rotten snow. Any angle that would have gone to mank is burned off and not holding any skiable snow.
I'm not going off piste until it snow a couple of feet again, just not worth it. Groomers are okay, but I lose interest pretty quick.
I'm seeing signs of Stockholm Syndrome up here, remarks like "it isn't that bad" or "it is surprisingly good" or "you have to really look for it, but you can find four good turns" or "I only hit a few rocks on that run" are all a sign of the damaged mental state of the skiers around here, after 4 yrs of this crap. These are people that 5 yrs ago wouldn't have put their ski boots on if the conditions were as bad as they are right now, are now singing the praises of bad snow. God, we need snow for a lot of reasons.
