I heard today at Squaw from someone who said they heard from a manager that they're giving it another week. We'll see how accurate that turns out to be. If it's true I'd be surprised if there was much more to ski than currently--maybe Granite. This stuff will melt very quickly once the sun comes out, like the man says, especially the stuff that falls on rocks and dirt.
Figured I'd let it snow a while and then show up at Squaw--got to Gold Coast just as they shut everything down--never even got off the funi. They said wind but I wonder if it was snow safety--the wind speeds aren't that high. OTOH it's been snowing hard and I suspect there's slide risk from the Roof, Mainline, and Palisades onto Shirley, Gold Coast, and Siberia Bowl with no way to control with skiers on the runs.
