Hi, I am new to this forum and would like to ask a question.
I've been considering new skis, because my old one's are not very advanced and don't perform well at high speeds. (k2 a.m.p. photons)
I know very little about skis/bindings/boots, but looking at the scale, I think I would be a 7-8. I can carve pretty much all piste slopes (in the right conditions) and have taken on double blacks at difficult resorts such as whistler. However, the places that I regularly visit are usually in north carolina and west virginia, so there is little off piste skiing. (I get a season pass to snowshoe every year)
I am pretty small as well, weighing 125 and at just a bit below 5 foot 6. (Still growing however)
Is there any point in getting freeride skis? I do occasionally take trips out west, but most of the time I'm skiing on piste and maybe some glades. The skis I'm considering are the Head Venturi 95s, mostly because the reviews say it has carving ability with a short turn radius. The twin tip is also a plus. From what i've heard though, the skis aren't as much of a freeride ski because it is narrower than most freeride skis. I'm considering getting it in 161, but 171 is also an option, because my k2 skis were 161, and they have more camber.
Basically, should I get the Head Venturi 95s, and at which length?
I know little about skis so detail is appreciated ;D
EDIT: erm, I don't know how to change the title, but it is a tad bit misleading. Sorry
Mod edit: added to the title
