Anybody know a deal on a 130 waist ski?

One of the wants/needs of my quiver is a fatter ski.   My daily is a 118 waist, but some days need more.

I was hoping to purchase a Bluehouse Maven as a good, cheap ski in this range, but they stopped making them when they moved production to the US, and the increased costs of US production are obviously rearing their head in much higher prices for their skis.

I am in the middle of buying a house, so really don't have money to throw around. I would love to be around $200. Ex-demo, used, etc. is just fine in my book, but obviously there are not a lot of 130mm demos.

I'm kind of kicking myself for not finding a way to pick up a set of prior year Mavens new for $250 last year.  I figured they would still have heavily discounted overstocks like in prior years, but obviously Bluehouse is producing less skis.

Volkl Kuro on skisessentials 2012 185 for ~$287 and 2013 185/195 for ~$295, you might wanna try giving Keith a call to check on prices for some old stock 2012 powderboards.

Thanks!

And yeah, I am looking for a ~190cm ski.

You can get a 191cm Head Boneshaker for $175 if 125 is wide enough.

I have a K2 pontoon for sale which is exactly 130 underfoot IIRC. Great ski, but completely useless if not being used in powder. Seeing as you ski wolf creek a lot of the time, that probably shouldn't be a problem Thumbs Up

For any of those Sierra Trading Post skis, you can find a 30% off coupon pretty easily. Sign up for their list etc.

@Finndog Most of those skis are showing a higher price for me. Odd.

The Gigawatts would probably be a good choice there...

as @jmeb posted, just sign up and you will get coupon codes. Plus as a new member you get bonus coupons.  I would call them to see what the best deal is.  In the mean time, here's todays code  FJE34272.  enter that in the shopping cart,

The gigawatts are showing as being on clearance so the coupons don't apply however, I think as a new member, there may be something that will.  I would def' call them.

FWIW-

they also have Bibby's in 192 for  $290....  http://www.sierratradingpost.com/moment-bibby-alpine-skis~p~7695n/?filterString=s~bibby%2F&colorFamily=99

AND, a head turbine (125) for $335.00. that could also be a really nice ski.  http://www.sierratradingpost.com/head-turbine-125-alpine-skis~p~7246n/?filterString=s~head%2F&colorFamily=99

Is there a special link? Off their website, unless I am looking at things wrong, they are wanting $505 for all their 2014 inventory...

I really appreciate the links. I'm hunting to see if I manage to find something for the very limited bucks that I can swing.

yeah, just email him to see whats leftover.  I think, not sure, but the code, "PRAXIS" stills gets you 10% off.

If you haven't I would still call Sierra and tell them you want to buy the gigs and see what they can come up with.  You can also just wait a bit and see what pops up on TGR for sale. Its early.

No. :(

Our mortgage got all screwed up, and so now I am scraping together a lot more in a down-payment.  Doesn't look like I will be able to swing even a few hundred bucks for skis this year.

I'll have to make do with a 118 waist...

Well, it took the whole season, but I was able to get squared away in the super-huge ski department with a pair of 195 Gigawatts from Sierra Trading Post for $239.97- with a coupon for $3 shipping.

That's a hell of a deal. Now I just need to source bindings...

As a coupon code? No, I didn't. I tried like 15 different codes and couldn't find any that would stack on clearance. The best I could get to work was a discount on shipping.

I'm not too torn up about it in either case.

If anyone is interested, I'm selling my 193 Bentchetlers. Only 123mm underfoot, but still should have plenty of float.

So this is what a 195cm 135mm waist ski looks like, with a pair of 185cm 74mm waist Volants thrown in for comparison.

Had a ball on these 195cm Kuros. 130+ wide IIRC
