When I'm in Florida visiting family?

Two of my biggest irks in my job is a) severely limited vacation time and b) a boss who is a former ski bum. He's well aware that I'm not "sick" on big snow days. If only I could get away with burning those couple hundred hours of sick time on powder days...

Oops, can't help you with that.

One more day of skittering around and wishing it would snow in the books!

Richards was heinous today, but had fun with the rut-line skier's right of Spillway.

So who am I skiing with tomorrow?

I plan to be in the lot by 8:30, provided the damn highway is open...

Please report back afterward for those of us needing a vicarious powder fix.  I offer this as a visualization exercise for what you might see tomorrow, except you'll be in deeper:drool

There will come a day when I jump on a last minute plane to Denver and meet up with MT Skull midweek at the LUV for a waist deep powder day...

Ankle deep in places today. Company always welcome, just stay outta my line on a powder day!

Not the 1-2' that was advertised, but did not suck!

So nice when these sleeper storms don't draw the usual "powder day" crowds...

So what all is open now at Loveland?

What is officially open and what is temporarily open is a big difference while Loveland is getting terrain going.

Lift 1:

Official: Mambo, Spillway, Lower Richards.

Unofficial (i.e. things that have been opened/are temporarily or conditionally): Upper richards, nix nox, cats meow, busy gully, tempest

Lift 6:

Official: Roulette

Unofficial: N/S Blackjack

Lift 2:

Official: Home Run, Tango road

Ptarmigan lift (old upper 1/2 of lift 2) opens this Saturday.

As of 11am today, not much.

Spillway

Upper/Lower Richards

Catwalk/Mamba/Home Run

Nix Nox (hit or miss)

Tempest

Roulette

Keno

Blackjack

Rumor has it Ptarmigan will open this weekend. Busy Gully looks like it could handle at least a brief opening, and I have to wonder how far off South Chutes could be? Probably not in the cards for this weekend, but if we keep benefiting from the "divide effect", maybe not much longer before we see at least limited openings of Cat's, Tiger's, and Busy.

I'm confused... how much extra do they charge to have entire runs to yourself like that?

no charge for standing in the corral for 30 min before lifts open, or for having the good sense to head for lift 6 on yer first run.

Also starting a new trend (for me) of buckling up before the lift loads, so I can take off right from the unloading ramp. In 8 years at Loveland, I think today was only my 2nd first-chair. Totally worth it!:yahoo:

Actually, they charge about $30-$60 less than most places. One of many reasons why I luv the LUV! Great vid and cool tune BTW

@Abox and I met up at the Luv Wed., Jan 20th. Some peeks of sun around mid-day, then nuking all afternoon! Was fun showing Abox around, and the pass offer stands for anyone looking to kill a day at the Luv with MT. (currently Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays, but need advance notice to reserve pass)

Abox in mustard colored jacket, and the tips of my Rocker2 100's following. Having a blast on the Dynastars too!

I seem to have an uncanny ability to perfectly time my arrival at the mountain with peak 2nds. Lucked into some really nice wind-transported goodness on the ridge yesterday, along with some pretty awful wind-crusted junk. Those clips conspicuously only found their way to the edit room floor...

All the usual re-hashed elements of a typical MT edit, but this time featuring my new Salomon Broncos Jacket, matching skis, and of course, first and foremost, Mr. Sun!
