Atomic new GS Race Plate

Anybody have any information regarding the new plate systems fitted on Atomics 2015 GS skis? Supposedly the same plates Ted and Vonn have been using. I saw a pair yesterday in a shop but the salesman didn't have much information on them yet.

I was looking at a pair of (real) WC Atomic GS with one of the USST a couple of weeks ago.  The D2 plate had effectively been cut short front and back and a different (part metal) plate fitted in between.  Not unlike a conventional plate although if you just saw it on the athletes foot it still poked like the normal race D2 set up.  It appears this started last season and significantly helped the turn-in on the new skis.

Was very tempted to buy them :) but for once decided it was not the smartest move!.  Oh, and the heel piece on the X series binding had also been beefed up over the normal X20...

Since Ted & Lindsey are on Head, I don't think they are on the Atomic plates. With that said, I have a pair of Travis Gagnon's GS skis that he used in Sochi and they do have a variation of the new race plate that you are referring to. There is a hinging mechanism that gives more control and dampening to ale them faster and smoother.

Yeah, have them on a pair of 2015 183 cm 23M GSs I just got. Plate is smaller and lighter, front stiffeners are still yellow, rear stiffeners are red (are stiffer), there is a hinge (RampTech) that's supposed to give you 10 degrees more angle as you go through the turn. Won't ski on them for another month or so, will report back then...

I thought ramp tech was only on the NON-FIS skis.  No mention of Ramp Tech on any of the FIS skis!

Yes, I just went to the Atomic web site, and it's hard to figure out which skis, in which lengths, have DD 2.0 or DD 3.0 (w/ Ramptech)...
