Skiing's less than 3 months away for many of us! What goals are you trying to achieve through conditioning for the 2014-2015 ski season? What have you started doing to condition yourself into skiing shape, or what is your plan?
My Goal: This year I'm going to pass the #$@%ing level 3 exam. My biggest barrier is limited flexibility and strength. I'd also like to return to a body shape that doesn't frighten people.
Current state: This summer my only physical activity was longboarding 10 minutes every day, mostly downhill, to work, and a week of kiteboarding. I'm also seeing the first signs of post-30 fatness. I just started back on the TRX last night.
Upper body: bicep curls, rows, and chest press, 3x/week
Core: plank (I hate core exercises; they really feel strenuous and produce minimal results) 3x/week
Legs: squats 4x/week (I think I need to do more)
Longboarding to the office, 10 minutes/day
Flexibility training: Elsbeth's exercises
