I'm a 26 year old male 5'7 156lbs. I have the Epic Local pass, and mostly ski Breck and a little at Vail. I currently have 174cm TSTs and have been turned on to the idea of getting some dedicated powder skis too. Eventually I would like to add a more fun/snappy groomer ski to the collection as well. I consider myself an advanced skier, and ski everything the resorts have to offer short of the cliffs. Unfortunately, I know almost nothing about powder skis, as it wasn't an issue back in the Midwest.
I only have one season under my belt here and am wondering if a dedicated powder ski is even necessary in addition to the TSTs?
How wide and how long a ski should I be considering?
I like a ski that is not too overbearing, is quick/snappy, and can be turned easily in the trees. In case of conditions changing, I can always run to the car to grab my other skis, but would rather not, assuming there are plenty of powder skis that can handle this. I plan to demo if possible, but would like to get an idea of what to look for and keep an eye out for sales. Some ski recommendations would be helpful to get me started.
Thanks for any advice
