You are so a wolf in sheep's clothing… :-)
Thanks all for all the "intermediate" support everyone. I may have to see if I can change my flight so I can take part in your tours Uncle Louie. As of now, I land at 10:53am on the 28th. If I move fast and nothing goes wrong, there is a slight possibility I can meet with you and the other intermediates for the last couple hours on Saturday. I would hate to miss out on such an opportunity, especially after Living Proof's review!
I just changed the days I'll be with the group based on one e-mail from another Intermediate.
My new dates with the Intermediate group are
AM hours on 2/28 (longer if I have enough guides to cover all the other groups) & almost all day on 3/1 (I need to duck out around 2 PM)
Ha. I'm not particularly good either, but had so much fun when I played with @mdf when we met at the Ranger Station at Snowmass recently. It was such a fun and low-key way to unwind for the night, plus the wine. His son will probably carry us with all the knowledge. @mdf carried my boyfriend and I out of last place to 2nd or 3rd that time.
May work many ways. In past if 3 or 4 people were in your vehicle you could park right at the ski area
with out charge. Is it still true?
Trish is flip flopping on coming on this GTG. If so she'll ski with Michel or any lower intermediates out there.
Good advice as I scored our rental on there for last years Gathering and cut 50% off the best rate I could otherwise find online.
Michel is demanding Trish's presence or else she's going to do something or something, but please get her there with you
SKI-3PO is Hotwire's Captain Kirk. He's always getting good deals on there.
Ah crap......the intermediates are all going to arrive damaged and bloody. (well......they'll look ready !)
I've already parked at the Ranch lot a couple of times this year for $10. I had no idea the 'good lot' was only $15. I thought it was at least $20 in years past, and would assume it's price went up accordingly along with the Ranch lot. Otherwise parking right in front would be almost a no-brainer. Almost . . . since I've never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for the Ranch lot bus.
The Ranch lot went from $5-$10 this year. It had nothing to do with JHMR. The pricing was set by the Teton Village Accosication to discourage people from driving. We have been losing a lot of moose on the Village Road and the traffic sucks. If you have three or more people in the car, parking is free in the Ranch lot. The buses are pretty quick. You can also park for free in the Stilson lot and catch a free bus to Teton Village. The closer lot is still $15. All parking is free after 1:00pm.
Thanks tetonpwdrjunkie. Glad free Stilson lot is still there. That's the tix unless we carpool.
Driving to JH from Grass Valley/Nevada City CA
GM: Trish is an intermediate also. I plan to add her to the Roll Call soooon.
Speaking of carpooling, I'm looking for a ride to/from downtown Jackson to JHMR for the first Friday (2/27.) I'm staying at the 49er (330 W. Pearl Ave). Only need the ride for Friday, since ski3po arrives a day later with the rental car.
The 49er had dedicated shuttle buses, leaving 2 times each morning, when I was there last, check it out. The website indicates complementary shuttles. It's direct, much better than Start Bus.
Thanks, saved $100 over previous reservation, and, it's with Hertz at the airport. Great deal!
Garyskr and I did a round-trip drive from Jackson to Bozeman during the Big Sky Gathering 2 years ago, and, we skied with y'all there. From Bozeman, take 191 south past the Big Sky access road, toward West Yellowstone and then head to Driggs Id., then over Teton Pass to Jackson. The route numbers change a little, so a GPS is a good thing to have. Two lane roads all the way, a little remote, not a drive I'd want to do in bad weather or at night (at least the first time). 4 + hours. Google maps shows the route.
We did drive through a heard of Buffalo in Yellowstone, they were just standing in the middle of the road.
I'm planning to drive up to Jackson from Snow Basin /Powder mountain on the day /afternoon of either 2/23 or 24 depending on snow conditions
If anyone wants a ride let me know
Also as I've never done the drive before any advise as to the best route
Im renting a medium sized 4wd ,not sure it will come with snow tyres
