I love a good autumn too. A big early snowfall can really screw it up, although I'm not supposed to think that way as a skier. One big dump will put an end to high elevation mountain biking, and even the bike paths can become impassable. I've ridden Vail Pass as late as Thanksgiving on some years, and it's been unridable as early as the first week of Oct on others.
The current forecast is horrible for snowmaking, but great for biking. Looks like at least a week of pretty warm weather. I couldn't be happier about next weekend's forecast

Looks like there could be a little natural snow up high tonight, and a chance to make a little snow Wed night. I wonder if it will be worth firing up the guns for the short window of cold. They might paint a little white to test things out and make the news.
