What do you think about Kastle's sizing program?

Hi All,

anyone have any experience/thoughts about Kastle's sizing app on their website?  I'm looking at the MX78 skis and it keeps putting me on 178's.  But I'm only 5'7" tall, 175 lbs, fairly muscular/stocky.  I'm calling myself expert (though I'm probably really a level 7+/ 8 skier),   But I keep thinking I should be on the 168 length, esp. since I'm looking for the 78's as a carver.

Any ideas/thoughts about whether I should go longer or shorter?  Or on the intelligence of the Kastle product finder app?

Thanx.

For your weight the 178 makes more sense, I'm 115lbs and find the 168 MX88's and BMX98's the right size.

Agree ^^^^, sort of. I'm 6', 165, the 178's are fine. The 168's would also work well, be more of a SL/GS hybrid, quicker in tight places but lose a touch of stability at real speed. Real issue is that Kastle needs smaller increments...

178 seems to be about the right length for an all-mountain carver.  If you want to keep it as a hard snow carver, then 168 makes sense.  For hard snow carving, bear in mind that the 168 has a 16 m sidecut radius versus 18 m for the 178.  The shorter radius is more suited to smaller tighter hills, and the 18 more suited to bigger hills, higher speeds and more wide open spaces.

Yeah, the 10cm increments are a pain for sizing, would be nice to see ~7cm.

I predict we will be seeing a change in the 10Cm increments in the near future.
