Is there a website that documents all the ski model history from various manufacturers?

I was talking with a buddy yesterday about a pair of K2s I had in the early/mid 90s, they were black and green, with neon multicolored bases.  I don't remember what they were called, so I tried googling for more information.  No dice, even after 30 minutes of research.  Is there a website anywhere that shows the model breakdown per year, of k2s skis?   If there isn't something like this, why isn't there one?  As an avid bike enthusiast there are plenty of websites that breakdown model years and components on all sorts of different bikes, usually with some nice photos on white backgrounds.

Help?

Lots of pics in this thread. Didn't bother looking for your skis, tho.

Yeah I found that but there's nothing broken down by manufacturer, model, year, etc.

Hobby project for some database guy.

If you post the skis in that thread, they can usually be identified. Otherwise a Bing image search for old k2 skis might do it.

I'm assuming you've already counted out the K2 Extreme which was an early 90s release from K2 w/ the multicolored bottoms.  I'm trying to think back about all the K2 skis that I sold at that time & can't come up w/ a black top, green bottom ski.  Any idea if it was a high end ski, intermediate ski, etc.  Why did you buy it?  Did you say you wanted a bump ski, slalom, GS, etc.  that will provide some guidance and help narrow down the potential candidates.  If it was an intermediate or lower end ski it could be a unique graphic that was created for a certain market or store.  It was quite common for them at the time to make multiple graphics.  Many of the large retailers like Big 5 for example would have a unique ski that was exactly the same as a 5500 for example or TNS that they sold at a steep discount.  Any specialty ski store couldn't touch the price, but if asked to match it was an easy reply of No, it's not the same ski.  If it wasn't a US ski, it could be even tougher to track down.

From memory popular K2 skis of early 90s:

GS:

TNC - black

Slalom:

KVC

Extreme - black

5500 - black

TRC - believe they had some in black

Gyrator - pre Extreme was black

They also had the Grateful Dead ski, but would assume you'd have not overlooked that graphic.

Old thread, but I've been wondering the same thing...  There must be someone out there who knows all about different models that came out.  Cash68, I'm interested in the same timeframe of K2s you are asking about--I immediately thought of the TRCs of the attack series, but maybe not?  Probably doesn't matter since it doesn't look like you're on here often.

Anyone else have specific knowledge of mid/late 80s and early/mid 90s K2s?
