Mountain Collective Pass now includes Banff/Lake Louise for 14-15 - Page 2

not sure what went wrong but bird is know to have problems, never had an issue with alta! getting the pass at alta and linking your card there is the best option, even the guys at alta are aware that things at snowbird are not that great regarding mcp

Getting the MCP at Alta was no problem last season.  Alta has had RFID for years.  But had to have it available at Snowbird to be scanned for most lift rides.  Those who used the MCP for the Utah Gathering and got their MCP from Snowbird . . . weren't very happy.

I didn't have any trouble, but I think I remember it was as adding days after the free ones was what some people had problems with.

+1 too.  I had trouble the first year of the MCP at Alta; basically the half price days were goofed up, the credit card wasn't linked properly.  Going to the season pass office last year was a breeze.  I'll do it again next week for my Alta-Bird vacation.

JH has their poop in a group for the MCP.  Aspen was fine too.  Sometimes very early in the season the ticket office gets the 'deer in the headlights' look 'cause they're not familiar with the MCP.

Thread needs to get back to it's stoke instead of being a place to complain about Snowbird's antiquated ticketing system, If you are going to use MCP at Altabird, make sure your first day is at Alta and you should not have problems.

I'm not sure if I am the first, but I used my two free days at Lake Louise and Sunshine Village this Tuesday and Wednesday. See http://www.firsttracksonline.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11730 and http://www.firsttracksonline.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11731 for trip reports. Both areas are skiing well, including Whitehorn at LL and Delirium Dive at SV, as they are high and far enough East to miss the f-ing r-word that has affected BC ski areas from Whistler to Revelstoke this Jan. and first half of Feb. And the Canadian Rockies are so beautiful, often in every directions, even just driving through, the vistas are stunning.

The only problem I had using MCP at Lake Louise and Sunshine Village it that is contains a bar code which could not be read through imperfect window in my jacket so I had to take it out. Not that big of a problem since I only rode base lifts, the only place pass is checked, twice at each place. I did not connect my MCP to a credit card here as I'm only skiing the two days and have already moved on.

Thanks for the TR Tony. I will probably ski Lake Louise and maybe Sunshine on my MCP on the way home from the Jackson Hole Gathering.

Just announced today that Sun Valley has joined MCP and everyone else in US and Canada still in. If you buy now you get third free day at resort you select in advance. Sounds good for Aspen gathering next year where tickets and most everything else is expensive.

Hah.  We skied 1st day at Alta.  2nd day Snowbird said Kevin's barcode was invalid (but not mine, gotten 5 minutes earlier).  Had to go back to the Season Pass office while they called Alta.  Fortunately we were in the tram dock, with no line, so no walk and not much time wasted.

Minor issues, though.  Mountain Collective Pass is GREAT!  Definitely going to get one for both of us again for next year.  I didn't realize next year's were already on sale.
