That is a LONG DAMNED HIKE for a fairly underwhelming payoff. Don't get me wrong, I like hikes. Even a 5 minute hike seems to get rid of about 95% of the traffic. But, if I am going to hike as far as that, there better be something like Highlands Bowl underneath. This is the same reason that I don't do the Horseshoe Bowl hike often- the payoff isn't there.
I also don't really understand why they cleared so many additional trees out of there. It is labeled double diamond- surely folks can handle a gladed runout?
