Buckskin Mtn... one peak south(?) from Democrat (in the first pic, Democrat is on the left, middle I believe is Cameron, Bross is blocked by my dog's head). Short-ish hike from Kite Lake, mix of skinning, boot pack, and short scree scrambles. Corn was prime around 9/9:30am.

It looks like Echo mtn has reopened and the Front Range Ski Club will split time with the general public. Hard to get the specifics but the terrain park is reopening. http://www.echomountainresort.com/

curiosity piqued.

I would be tempted to pick up a pass for some night forays if this is the case. That or a bowling pass at the Wild Game. Interchangeable excuses to drink beer on week-nights.:beercheer:

I didn't know an excuse was needed...I've been doing it wrong all these years

Not a skiing post, but wondering if any of you were going to see Steely Dan at the Red Rocks amphitheater?

Was gonna skin St. Mary's "glacier" today but MN is not cooperating with her thunder and lightening. If anyone is interested for some other time this month, send me a PM

Fourth of July Bowl on the 4th.

The day started off with this immaculate 'The Judge' GTO as we rolled out of the neighborhood.

Driving up CR 751(?) past the stables and on up Peak 9. Fourth of July Bowl in the distance.

The jumping off point. This was about a few hundred meters from the ski area boundry on the Windows hike to  terrain.

Further on up the road.

The road continues up.

Are we there yet?

Crystal Peak from the summit of Peak 10

The southern jumping off spot. You could hike over the summit and access the other side of the bowl as well.

This is what we came for.

And this is how we dressed. Jerry Kahunas as a tribute to The Grateful Dead's last concerts.

Marty on his second run.

Back at the truck for a cold one (or two?) with Baldy in the background.

The peak in the background and another hot rod to finish the day.

Looks like you had a great day.  Very nice pics.  Thanks for sharing.  Weather was great.  We took the super chair up to Peak 8 and hiked up Upper Four O'clock.  Got back down to One Ski Hill just in time before they shut down for lightning.  Had to bus it the rest of the way down.

It's amazing how we're always hoping for July 4th a A-Basin and looking at it now.

I would be in the mountains now if it weren't for the I-70 delays. Just couldn't deal with all of the holiday traffic.

And here we go. Once there is new snow, there isn't any such thing as old snow.
