There seemed to be no freeze from Sat night with the new snow on top. Doubt that will be the case tonight, but I'd watch temps. I was on Rocker2 100's all day, and they were perfect.
This was at 4:30.
Don't EVEN get me started.
I came up last night to Copper, arrived about 6:30, it wasn't snowing anywhere except .. Copper. It was dumping pretty good here. C'est la vie.
We should seriously ski Copper...probably some of the deepest snow in Summit County right now.
Report... Loveland was absolutely awesome yesterday and should be good today... end of report.
Ok a little more... Snowing when we got there around 9am. There was a good 7 to 9 inches of good fresh snow (not heavy) when we got there. It snowed on and off all day (sometimes white-out, blizzard conditions). Temps stayed just around freezing. I did not ski the top as visibility sucked but rather stuck to the trees. I would think the top will be good today or tomorrow if the sun comes out. The snow got heavy (both falling and underfoot) later in the day but was still easily the best day of the season (for me) since that February storm we had.
Monday-morning leftovers plus the outlook through next week
Ever get that adventurous feeling to hike up roundabout/soliloquy? I skied A Basin for the 1st time ever this weekend.
To a different topic:
When I was trying to ski Copper the last weekend the tucker cat was operating, I missed the cat by a few minutes and was talking to the patrollers in the loading area. They stated that I may have an opportunity to ride the cat again next year as it seems like the Tucker lift won't be going in over the summer due to something new with the forest service.....
A Basin produced some fine skiing this morning. The drive up was a fine start to the day.
I was on 'Zuma early and the trees on the left were great.
I guess I didn't get the sunscreen worked in completely.
They opened the Cornice from the top. It was a bit firm under some left over pow in the morning around 10. I never got back to see if it softened up. Started beachin' at about 11:30.
Lisa put out a fantastic spread with fondue, cold cuts, pretzels and fabulous fixings to go with it all. Thank You!
What? What? Seriously? Hugh sighing face-palm.
