I don't understand how an ATV and plow can be more effective than a snow thrower. If you have plenty of snow stacking space, I suppose, but you every time you plow you either have to push the old bank further back or start with enough space to stack in front of it. With a thrower, you can put the snow far far away without having to deal with what is between you and where you want it, unless of course you want it on the other side of a building. :-)
Space isn't the issue. Having snow so wet and deep that you have to take things 6" at a time to avoid jamming the snowblower at either the auger or the disharge chutes is.
I have 1+ acres. There is always somewhere to push it.
