You can show me your appreciation by picking up lunch and beers
Congrats! You also got REALLY lucky with the forecast over delivery! The normal powder hordes didn't have time to react and get out today!
Do you feel better?
It's never good when a conversation starts with "It's complicated."
How am I supposed to plan my life around powder days when this was the forecast just two days ago!?!?!
I was going to write off this week, and so far I've missed two powder days and it's only Wed. WTF?
OK, enough bitching... who's gonna be at the Jane tomorrow?
Breck had awesome snow yesterday. Marty and I met up with @MEfree30 on the Imperial chair by chance and skied until we couldn't make another turn. Face shots, core shots and beer shots all around. That pesky 12" or so covered some nice rocks I thought I knew how to avoid (from prior recon), but I ended up dancing for about 10 meters on rocks until I could dance no more. Double eject and a very abrupt gluttial arrest made for an interesting run in Wonderland. After a personal evaluation of my condition and scraping a couple pounds of p-text off my skis, we continued to hike a run on Peak 6 and was rewarded by more delightful snow. Overall a great day.
It is still flaking in Breck...
I was going to post that but I didn't want to poke the Summit gang with a stick...... but yes....
I am hoping the goods kick in soon and hope to be living large in the donut again.....
Photos from yesterday at Breck along with the meet up with @MEfree30
The lines are always unbearable at the T-Bar on powder days.
This didn't quite capture the dramatic lighting...
This lifty was ready for a fight. I'm glad we didn't tick him off.
So the Google Borg must have sensed my grumpiness about missing the pow days and decided to cheer me up by making a couple video edits of my miserable life in CO.
Copper last week:
And, over MLK weekend with the kiddos;
I love those videos for being ZERO effort on my part. All I did was take the memory card out of my action-cam and stick it in my phone. Google automatically backed up all the photos and videos to my google plus account, then made those edits from what it saw as the highlights. I'm sure I would have chosen some different shots to highlight, but it did an OK job picking. Much better than me, since I haven't even had the time to look and 90% of the video I shot, let alone make an edit!
And, if anyone wants an awesome dirt cheap action cam, I couldn't be happier with my Garmin Virb that's only $109:
Sorry for the sales pitch, but I'd love to see folks put up little videos like that here.
Neat! Can you tell the Google Borg to give you like 6 or 8 second clips instead of 3? Those seem a bit too short to me.
