Rocker 2 108 or 4frnt Devestator

Trying to decide between these two skis to purchase this winter, it would be my everyday ski, 6'3 180lbs. Most skiing would be in MT and CO.

The Devastator is the replacement for the Turbo.  The Turbo is one of my favorite skis of all time.  It's not great at anything, but it is comfortable everywhere on the mountain.

The new ski has matching sidecut/rocker, and is a touch wider.  It's also a bit longer then the 189.  But at 6'3, I wouldn't be concerned about the extra size.

I made a few runs on the Rocker on hard pack and skied about 5 day on the Devastator in varied conditions. I liked the Rocker. It made quick turns and held together OK at speed. I don't recall it being particularly damp. I think it would be a lot of fun in some fresh snow. I demoed the Devastator in similar conditions and knew I was going to buy them before I finished my first run. I really loved these skis and couldn't be happier with them. They fly on the groomers. In anything fresh they pivot and smear like you'd expect a reverse camber ski to behave. They don't turn as quickly on hard pack as something with a little smaller side cut, but they're fine and that's a small trade off for all the areas these skis do shine. They are fairly damp and do well for me in crud. I bought the 184 cm Devastator and I'm about 5-11, 170.

Those are two very different skis to be stuck between.  Do you want a playful twin-tip or a heavy charging crud buster?

I think i am going to go ahead with the rocker 2. Does anybody know if their are any changes from last years model or if its just the graphics that have changed?

I'm looking for a wider ski with all-mtn chops to replace my Head Rock 'n Rolls. I've been skiing the RnR's in a 180 for three years, and loved 'em. But...I demo'd them originally in a 173 and they were strangely just as fun, but a little quicker and more maneuverable in the bumps and steeps. These are very light skis, easy and versatile as well. I've taken them in pow, trees, bumps, race course, ripping groomers, chunked up off-trail stuff. They're really excellent...I'm just curious about going to a wider ski underfoot to get a little more float in pow. These are the widest I've ever owned, but now it's time to go fatter.

Started looking at the 2015 Devastator. Any opinions on this for a one-quiver ski for pow and groomed? Seems like it'd be very good from what I'm hearing.

Size-wise, I'm tempted to look at the 174, even though most would probably suggest a 184. I'm 6'0", 175lbs. I just feel like the shorter ski will make it easier, and I want easy.

Thoughts from those who've skied the Devastator?

Thanks guys

Dave

From what I've heard, the 184 skis really short. Iwouldn't even consider the 174.

I'm 5'11/195, and I was looking at the 194.

Thank you. Which skis are you coming off of?

I've got a bunch, but my primary ski is a 189 4frnt Turbo.
