Taos Millenium Pass now includes 3 days at Copper

Just saw in my Facebook feed that Taos has secured exchange days with Copper Mountain, which probably means Copper will make a similar announcement.

Seems the new ownership at Taos is getting a lot more friendly with exchange days- with a Taos pass, one also gets:

3 days at Purg

3 days at A Basin

3 days (with lodging :( at Crested Butte)

1 unguided day at Silverton

3 days at Powder Mountain

3 Days at Copper.

With the exception of Purg (Decent-ish mountain but not really worth leaving Taos to go ski), that is a hell of lot of quality skiing.  The pass is also a lot cheaper than their season passes used to be (with the reasonable limitation imo that you only get 70 days and don't ski Taos over Christmas-New Years).

With the Silverton deal and (what I suspect to soon see) Taos days added to the Copper pass, it really looks like a Taos trek may be in order...

If Taos and Copper ever got together and offered a serious pass with say 10 days at the oposing resort(or unlimited) they would get my money. I love Taos, its where I learned to ski and with it being a 5 hr trip from Denver I could see skiing Copper mostly all year with 4-5 weekenders in Taos being the meat and taters of our season. After learning there, and that hill both beating and scaring the crap out of me at times as a beginner, I have a bone to pick...lol. but 3 days isnt enough bait to leave the convienience of eldora and the option to get off 70 early and head to WP when traffics bad. Besides on the super pass plus youve got the days at the boat.

Yeah, I'm surprised more deals don't in include half price on additional days like the Mountain Collective Pass.   That would be more likely to draw folks for a week rather than just a long weekend.

It's really great to see the deals getting done to fight back against the epic pass.  The geographic diversity between Taos and Copper will be really nice for folks going both directions.

Well, maybe for some 5 days is closer to the sweet spot than 3, but my ski vacations are typically a 3 day weekend. For a ski area out of driving range, 3 days covers it.

I love it when areas add these benefits. All the sudden I get new cheap vacations.

Often these friends with benefit deals are served up as sampler appetizers rather than as replacement for the full main course.

Its about time Taos got their act together....great mountain but horribly mismanaged from the top down.  I hope the new ownership continues to deliver!
