Please forgive any failings when it comes to terminology as I'm not great with it. I currently ride a Jamis Durango (not sure of year) with 26x1.75 tires for road riding and 26x2.10 tires for "trail" (non-paved roads here) riding. The frame is a bit small for me being that I'm a hair under 6' and it's a 17" frame (options here are limited unless you want to pay through the nose).
I ride my bike here a fair bit for recreation/exercise, but my bike is also my means of transport here. I've been riding a lot more recently, and I live in an area with a fair number of hills (my normal 1 hour or so 15 mile ride has about 700 feet of elevation change). I've been wondering what effect having a bike with clipless pedals would have. Because I ride so much for transport I'd need the type of pedals that are both conventional for normal shoes as well as having clips for cycling shoes. I was wondering how significant of an effect those would have on riding and if they'd be worth the investment.
