Rossignol Race 3 ski boots (walk down memory lane..)

Hi all,

Quick question: Does anyone remember the Rossignol Race 3 boots (from the early 2000's I think)?  They were the bright yellow ones (http://katuha.com/adpics/4cfe9524b723696619fc4f4c1.jpg ).

Anyways, I've been using them for eons now, and they finally snapped last winter so I need to buy a new pair of boots.  Does anyone remember what the Flex rating was on the Rossignol Race 3 boots? I ask, because I loved the Flex rating of those boots, but can't remember (or find any information on the internet) what the rating was.

I'm looking to buy the 2012 Rossignol World Cup 130 boots as a replacement, but am wondering if 130 flex is a bit aggressive.  I still race in a 'masters' league.  I'm 5'9'' 145lbs if that helps...I don't mind a hard boot as I get more performance out of my skiis with a harder boot, but would 130 flex be too much?

I also plan on 'free skiing' in these boots...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Nathan

Nathan,

that boot is from before the era of flexes being given any designation in terms of numbers which might mean anything  it was the softest of 4 ...the 3, 2, 1 and 1 pro

the new shape is completely different form the old models (12-14 years have past)  best thing is to get yourself in to see your boot fitter, work with them on the fit and flex of the boot, they can help guide you though the process, the wiki at the top of the forum "which boot will work for me" will give you some ideas of what to expect in the fitting process

flex is a very personal thing so don't be put off by numbers as a 130 form one brand will be like a 110 form another or a 140 from a 3rd

good luck getting sorted

CEM is right and remember the numbers aren't comparable anyway, even within companies.
