It has been 8 years since I owned a Miata and now I have my 7th one, a 92 Sunburst Yellow. Miatas I had over the years included a 90B, 90A, 92C, 96M, 96R and a very sweet 99 10AE-1AB ( A custom design that I did) and now I have yet another Special Edition Miata, a 92 Sunburst. @Trekchick and I had just come back from a 5200 mile road trip and in that time a few topics came up including Miatas and if I ever missed owning one. I said not really but if one was to fall in my lap, I am sure I wouldn’t be too upset but if it would have to be a Special Edition such as (and I used as a point of reference) a 92 Sunburst. Not thinking much about it afterwards because most Miata’s I have seen here in Reno have been either over priced or modified beyond recognition. A couple of days ago I happen to look on Craigslist and sure enough there was a 92 Sunburst for a reasonable price, posted just an hour prior to me seeing it. I look at Tricia and we both just chuckled and she said “We have to go see it”. So I make a call, make an appointment and we make the hour trip down south and of course we make the deal. On the phone, I didn’t play coy with the seller asking inane questions like if it had power windows (none of the Sunburst Yellows had power windows) , I went right to the point. I said I am a Miata aficionado and I am looking for another and if this is the right car, it will have a good home. All I needed to ask was if they were the original owner, top condition, and if the air blew cold, the rest can be done when I saw the car. As soon as I pulled up, I knew that we were going to buy it, the test drive was just a formality.
I know there are a few Miata people here such as @Rossi Smash, who has a 90 red one, @Gone2Alpine, who found my post over on Miata.net and @bbinder who is currently Miataless but has has one. Anyone else here?
