Replace Device 311 on Atomic Supercross 9:2

So your first question if you are in the US is what is a Supercross 9:2?  I would love to know more, but all I can tell you is that it was only available in Europe and NZ.  Stiffer than a 9 and less so than a 10?  I dunno, but its a fun ski.

But it has Device 311 bindings. They were manufactured 2004 and thus not subject to the recall, but also no longer indemnified.

Should I replace them?

Assuming I will get a lot of yes answers, with what? Anything using the same holes thats indemnified and/or safe?

Alternatively, a friend has a pair of Salomon s711 he'll give me.  How hard would it be to make those work.

I've never mounted bindings before, but I maintain my own skis and have ski vices.  Generally good with tools.

It might be possible to mount the 711's if you pull the plate.  But skis and bindings are so much better now, I don't think it would be worth the effort unless that's all you've got.

My every day skis are Head Rev80.  Great all around ski. But I want something that can go really fast and hold a hard line on perfect firm groomers.

I am at the limit of the Rev80 when it comes to going fast.  They hold a line great though. I really just want something to try out when those firm conditions come along so that I can see if I even like it. So I didn't want to spend anything other than a little effort to find out. If I decide I like it, I might spring for something a little newer (these are 2009, even though the bindings are older). Yes, I could demo. But its a whole lot easier to grab them when the opportunity knocks--and to switch back to the Rev80s if they scare the snot out of me.

Were all the device311 garbage, even the ones not in the recall?  Otherwise, I don't mind the challenge of retrofitting.

Does anybody know of a reliable binding that would use the same plate? That might be the easiset way to go.
