As you are local, check out the Wachusett Columbus day swap (early Oct). Probably you can find a pair of well used but useable bent GS poles for around $20-$25. Wawa has the 2nd largest NASTAR program plus active juniors and HS racing, thus usually there is a ton of race stuff at the swap.

Go check Ebay. Currently there are a pair of 52" Kerma/Dynastar GS poles for $29.75 with free shipping. I have been using this same pole for 3 years and have been very happy with them.

So Leki has a fitting feature on their website. For me it says 125cm. Does that take in account the distance my hands are at the start gate from where they normally are, because where you put them is below the skis?

No.  It takes into account how far your head is from the ground when you're standing straight up.

It has no idea how long your arms are or where you'll put the tips or the slope of the start ramp.  All of those things are always different.

So what, add another 5 cm? I'd like to get them while the offseason still continues on ebay. I don't know what prices on ebay look like around Thanksgiving. I was gonna wait to go to a ski shop and see how long they need to me to take in account the start gate, but I don't know what prices look like right before the snow falls

I'm not sure that can be answered accurately. Pole length is usually user defendant.

FOR ME:

SL and free skiing I use 46" or 115cm
GS I use 48" or 120cm

Don't quote me on the cm as I'm going from memory but the inches are correct. I'm 5'7"

What works for me might not work for you, but there are som rules of thumb. Adding a couple inches shouldn't be that big of a deal and you can always trim them down. You can't make them longer though.

You could also try reliableracing.com.  They have lots of previous year equipment for reasonable prices.  For me, I ski with 48" slalom poles and I think my GS poles are 130cm (approx. 51") and they give me a little more speed to the first gate.
