But where are the photos of lunch?
I'm not sure if I said this already but we spent last night in Oklahoma City, OK so that we could spend some time with my niece, stayed up late talking with her and got to bed about 1:30AM. We pulled out of there this morning at 9 ish and got to our final destination this evening.
Can you guess where we are?
@SKI-3PO You suppose Phil knocked on a random door and said..."Excuse me sir, but my GPS isn't working and I need directions to...."
Gary and Phil are getting in 18 this morning while Mrs Garyskr and I went to do some laps at the pool and now we're relaxing on the patio while I get caught up on some of my "behind the scenes on EpicSki.com"
Maybe I should be asking you all "what do you want to see featured on the home page?" since I haven't been on line a whole lot with the spotty cell coverage and internet access along the way.
Throw some ideas at me for features
That's a possibility. :
@Kneale Brownson, we'll be coming through Colorado Wednesday (ish) We have a meeting at the Mother Ship so we're not sure how much time we'll have during our time in Colorado.
Now some pictures from the Sinkhole at the Corvette Museum, where Phil, @garyskr, Candy and I went for an afternoon
For those of you who haven't heard about the Sinkhole. Here is the story
They have done a fantastic job of optimizing this situation by putting the sinkhole, the 8 that went into the hole and the survivors that didn't go into the hole, on display.
It really is a crazy story. I'll share a few pictures. I believe Phil will share a few more.
And one quick shot of the Bears before leaving the museum.
Now we have two days of wedding stuff, then a trip back across the country.
Not that these wedding pictures mean anything to you, but the reason for the trip and to show that we did, in deed, Get to the church on time
Okay, it wasn't technically a church, but more like a hay field, but you get the idea.
Time to head back toward home and stop a few places along the way. You may see a few more pictures of some bears we meet along the way.
Well, now, Philpug and I have not checked in for a few days,
I found a few pictures from the Fireworks with @garyskr and his lovely wife.
On our journey toward home we passed by some notable spots,
And saw a gorgeous sunset in Kansas
Arriving in Colorado a little before the Colorado Bears were expecting us, we waited
Then we Apres' Skied, I'm really good at the Apres' part
(sorry, no pics)
Wednesday was a hike day. What an incredible hike. I wish I could remember the name of the trail but I was happy to just go along for the journey.
After our hike we were talking about our next leg of the journey which was supposed to be some of our National Parks in Utah and Eastern Nevada, but we decided to take a spontaneous detour to Steamboat to see some more Bears and enjoy some of Steamboats summer fun.
Was eager to show us some of her favorite watering holes.
And @Finndog joined us for the Hot Air Balloon Rodeo
The whimsical decision to head to Steamboat was a great idea. So much fun.
And now..... we are 6 hours from home, exhausted and happy.
@epic I see you had some pictures of balloons today too.
yeah, it was good to see you guys. The weather for the balloons was perfect and they do a great job here for the festival. Happy to have you guys enjoy one of my favorite gems 'TACO CABO".
I was thinking of all the Bears we were lucky enough to spend time with on this trip. This site has brought a lot of great people into my life and I treasure you all.

People we came close to meeting up with but timing was off
Its the people that make a community and its the people who make a trip like this a whole lot more special
Actually, we stopped at a LaQuinta with a pool and swam a few laps to unwind before bed. Sometimes you just need to do that after a full day like we had.
I really wish we'd been able to head your way but it would have added quite a lot to the end of the road trip. Next time we pass through we'll make sure you're on the beginning of the road trip.
Need to get home today to see if Ziggy still remembers us of if he'd prefer to stay with the dog sitter.
Yeah and tire rotation. As far as the service, at one point, my service reminder came on and wain 300 miles or 278 days till next service.
Gary, you and your wife were a highlight of our trip. We can not say enough about your hospitality. We will definitely be back to visit again so that Candy can take us to the Octagon House!
