While attendance is wavering, TV views are down. The game is too long...average game is close to 4 hours..season is the longest on games (162) compared to the other major sports as a summer game is still is susceptible to snow-outs in the early season and World Series. Salaries have been out of hand for a while, are they? Maybe not if owners are still writing checks. Parity has small market teams competing with the big spenders but is that good? Do sports need a perennial bad guy? Since 2000 we have had 10 different World Series Champs? Is that good or bad for the sport?
Season too long? Drop it down to a 154 game schedule with 6 scheduled double headers. Not these Day/Night Double headers that make you buy two tickets and are killer on the players.
Interleague Play? What was great about the World Series prior was you had two teams that never faced each other, not it not near as special as it once was. Get rid of it.
Designated hitter? Put it in both leagues, it will be more consistent and brings more offense to the game. More excitement.
Intentional Walk? Take your base. no need to throw 4 pitches
Extra Innings? 3 innings. If after the 12th? tie game. One pitcher can be used.
What would you do to fix the game?
