Memorial Weekend at My Bachelor

Well, we finally closed the season down at Memorial weekend. 3 days of great Spring skiing, silly costumes and light crowds on a 130-70 inch base at Mt Bachelor. Friday saw variable weather, with cloud moving in and closing down the Summit chair about 11. The rest of the weekend actually saw some Spring-like weather, which softened the snow without making it particularly sticky, just slow in places down low.

When the weather is like this, Bachelor is amazing as you can traverse out east early to Cow's Face and get 2000+ vert ft of wide open faces and 'lava chutes'. When this gets too slow, you just traverse to the west side (or do the 5 minute Summit hike) to pick up the great lines off the top towards the Northwest chair. there's so much terrain, it's fabulous.

It's the finest place in the US for May skiing - highly recommended. Spring pass is $149 - we scored 9 days on ours this year. From Pittsburgh ;)
