Any feedback out there on handling insurance claims with Travel Guard?
My wife and I bought 2013/2014 Mountain Collective Passes through Liftopia with Ski Pass Insurance through Travel Guard. She got pregnant in January and was unable to use her pass for planned trips to Utah and Mammoth in February and March. We filled out the abundance of paperwork with physician signatures required for a claim and 6 weeks later received an inadequate refund of $98 instead of a refund for the purchase price of the pass.
Travel Guard is claiming "Reimbursement will be provided for the pro-rated cost of the unused portion of the Season Pass" even though Travel Guard's Policy specifically states "the Company (Travel Guard) will reimburse the Insured the cost of the Season Pass minus the resort's daily Ski Pass rate for every day used up to the face value of the Season Pass".
I've tried to resolve this with both Travel Guard and Liftopia without success. Liftopia refers me to Travel Guard, Travel Guard is sticking to their guns on a pro-rated refund. My next step is small claims court.
