Line Mr Pollards Opus - stupid questions

Thread Starter

Hello all,

first post here, and sorry if this sounds like a stupid one!

I bought the Line Mr Pollards Opus 185 (at a stupidly low price) purely based on the graphic to put up on the wall!

They look awesome, but next winter I may want to actually use them!

My problem, I kinda suck at skiing and not sure I will be able to utilise them effectively.

I am from the UK and skied a lot as a kid, but had no trips from 16-25. Got around 3 weeks in this year and fell in love with it again, i was mostly bombing red runs but found myself searching for fluff off the sides of the pistes and really enjoying it. Would love to learn to ski powder properly and may commit some cash to this next winter, have ambitions for 4 trips this winter (most likely all to StAnton) and of course many lessons!

Am 5'10, 175lb.

Based on that brief info should I use these or think about something else? (Loved the 188 Soul 7 when i hired it).

Note I'm also planning on next years Brahma in 180 for non powder use.

For those that think keep em and use em, any binding or mounting advise? I was thinking somewhere between EP's and the recommended line (-4cm).

Would Head Attack 13 with a 130mm break be suitable?

Any thoughts on adjustable binding to allow stance change?

Thanks in advance!

The MPO's are pretty easy-sking, so I wouldn't think you would have a problem with them.

If you do...well...I guess they would indeed make for some attractive wall art.

Edit:  Aargh, I was thinking SFB's when I posted that.  I haven't tried the Opus, but I believe it's still supposed to be pretty easy skiing.

.....and there's still the wall art thing.

Don't rule out the power of the lesson!
