It is going to be EPIC....any day on the snow is EPIC. Really good skiers can have fun on bullet proof ice, heavy wet slush, and everything in between. A lot of it has to do with state of mind. If you go into a ski day thinking it is going to suck because the snow isn't perfect, then it probably will suck. If you go in with a positive attitude and low expectations you will never be disappointed....and you probably won't be the butt end of every joke on this forum.
That being said, today was EPIC!!! I love this shot courteous of @MastersRacer
do they have bumps? I love refrozen bumps.
Even better, hit Slalom Slope! It's open, faces East and get baked by the morning sun. Slalom Slope is as steep as Pali and usually has even bigger bumps. Nice big slush bumps there yesterday:
Not that anyone has anything to prove, but skiing those refrozen bumps would do it. Video required, of course!
Anyone want to join me for refrozen bumps tomorrow morning?
Here are a few more pics of the fantastic spring conditions yesterday:
Great coverage on the closed Pali run from the open Pali lift:
Nice bumps on Exhibition and Ramrod:
And the East Wall still open above:
The right-most image in the rail-slide sequence does show HippieFlippin's skis on the snow.
that run was one of Diane's favoritea. She might be more masochistic than I am. I like the tuning bench.
well today the start off denser and skied better than yesterday. east wall hike was fantanstic skiing in untracked deep cream cheese.
tball seriously the snow is falling really like and turning into sticky, heavy mess. I am use to heavy snow that get lighter as the cold dry air of vermont dry it out. i am here monday. I think the snow its basically going to bottomless :).
Man, next year we are going to have to make plans out West.....
My wife Alicia just pointed this out..
Looks like you are in for a Powder Day!
Take video! PLEASE.. .It was 81 and wet off and on all day in NYC today.
Yep, the runs off the East Wall today were just absolutely miserable.
That is if this is your idea of misery:
